Warbler Weekend Update No. 3
Here’s the warbler list so far from the Vermont Bird Tours’ Warbler Weekend outing at Highland Lodge in Greensboro. We may get another species or two today. One missing bird species from Barr Hill Nature Preserve in Greensboro is Boreal Chickadee. I’ve not seen it at the preserve in four visits since 2008. It’s quite possible that the isolated population of that northern cousin to Black-capped Chickadee has blinked out, become extirpated. I’ll blog more on this in a few days. So, now, here are the warblers:
- Nashville Warbler
- Northern Parula
- Chestnut-sided Warbler
- Magnolia Warbler
- Black-throated Blue Warbler
- Blackburnian Warbler
- Black-and-white Warbler
- American Redstart
- Ovenbird
- Northern Waterthrush
- Mourning Warbler
- Common Yellowthroat
- Canada Warbler
I’m getting some nice video of a few of these birds, which I hope to post later today.
